We value our customers’, visitors’ and partners’ right to privacy and believe in the importance of transparency and seamless communication between our company and our clients. Therefore, we choose to operate with full disclosure regarding any personal information we may keep in our database concerning our customers and users. Working under ethical, safe and professional conditions is of utmost importance to SeaBOS. We value and protect the privacy of all our customers, visitors, partners, contractors and employees.

What Personal Data Do We Collect?

Upon user registration at SeaBOS.org, some of your personal information is saved. Naturally, we keep the collected data safe. The following information will be stored upon registration:

  • Contact information such as name, title, organization, address, e-mail, visiting history and information about allergies/food preferences if uploaded (for future meetings)

Cookies & How We Use Them

SeaBOS uses cookies on all of our websites. When you visit one of our websites, information is saved on your unit in order for us to recognize your device in the future. This is called cookies. The concept of cookies is built on a small text file being stored on your unit, which helps you to navigate our websites more easily in the future. The cookie is a file that makes identification of your communication device possible, for example identifying your computer or smartphone, but without saving any personal data or information.

You can choose not to accept cookies on your device or to shut them down manually. Please note that this may affect user functions on our websites and could result in errors on some of our features.

SeaBOS uses a statistical tool such as Google Analytics to access information regarding its users and visitors. The statistics do not entail any personal information or data.

 

How We Share Information

Any information gathered by SeaBOS as part of the science programs is bound by the Research Protocol for SeaBOS, as varied from time-to-time.

Data Storage

Your personal data using own secure on-site servers or other internally hosted technology. Your personal data may also be stored by third parties, via cloud services or other technology, to whom we have contracted.

These third parties do not use or have access to your personal data other than for cloud storage and retrieval, and we require such parties to employ at least the same level of security that we use to protect your personal data (see “Security of your personal data” above).
